Any plans to support Post Formats? Since I was rebuilding from scratch, I saw these in the Twenty Thirteen theme, and was making use of them. However, the widget it provides when editing a post doesn’t appear when the StartupPro theme is active.

Apparently they’ve been around for a while, since 3.1. I know it’s just another taxonomy and some people already came up with workarounds, ones which likely break if they changed themes, but I can see some reasons to have this “standard” supported.

In our experience, post formats don’t have much use. In fact we’ve seen more instances of them causing annoyances than being popular.

Instead, we actually support full custom post templates to match that experience of custom page templates (http://codex.wordpress.org/Page_Templates) which is a much more robust, useful and satisfying approach.

If enough people still wanted post format support we would of course consider it.
