I really like the look of StartupWP and even purchased the pro version with the hopes it would open up some other more user friendly options. However, that was not the case as I find it to be very newb unfriendly and quite frankly frustrating. For example I want to change the color of my site title and footer and it appears I cannot make that simple change without sifting through some serious code.

From what I have read in the forums you do provide excellent support but one needs to understand the lingo to be able to implement that copy and paste code. May I suggest for people purchasing the pro version you make available some basic coding understandings? I am educated, adept with technology and took jscript classes many years ago but everything evolves and and this whole wordpress stuff is making me weary. Other than the basic “Customize your site” and the checklist of the startupro options and I haven’t a clue on what I am doing. So far I have a very pithy looking site using a very powerful theme.  Just wanted to add my two cents worth.

    We have the documentation:

    https://startupwp.com/forum/documentation/

And specifically, if you’d like to learn CSS in order to style the look of your site, start here:

    https://startupwp.com/topic/customizing-your-theme/
(which starts at the very beginning by first, explaining what CSS even is)

So we already do what you’ve suggested, but more importantly as a customer, we don’t force you to have know or learn code, let alone understand the terminology. That’s all entirely unnecessary and will in no way hinder your ability to get help.

Explain whatever you like in your own words and we’ll very likely be able to understand what you mean. Rudimentary descriptions are fine:

How do I make the area background at the top where the logo sits blue?

Here’s the link to my website, see where the Home link is, how to I make that a different color from the others?

And we’ll explain exactly what to do in very simply terms.

Support is exactly as easy as you’d like it to be, as easy as anyone wants it to be and you can speak freely, we don’t care if you understand the tech lingo.

    Ask away! :)
