    Hello,

Running Pro version on WP 3.5.1

Primary purpose of my site http://www.somethingaboutflight.com is for blogging. I would like to have a “Home” button on the menu bar which users may click on to bring them back to the most recent posts from anywhere else in the site. I tried setting up a Page for this but apparently that is not the correct way to go about it. Hoping you might be able to help.

    Thanks!

If you mean a “Home” button as in a normal Home text link item, then you simply need only to create your menu custom under Appearance > Menus:

If, on the other hand, you mean an actual “Home” graphic icon, you’ll need to produce the image and we can help customize with CSS.

    or

You could add the following font:

    http://genericons.com/

And add the corresponding letter as the Home link text for the home icon, likely “h” or “H”.

    Thanks for the reply.

I did a poor job of explaining in my original post.

What I’m looking to have happen is when you click on the “Home” button in the menu it brings you to the latest blog post.

When I initially created my “Home” page (as per the video link you sent) by clicking on the “Home” tab I’d go to a blank page.

    Does this make more sense?

    Thanks!

What exact URL would you like the “Home” button to link to, and by “Home” button are you referring to the top site title link “Something About Flight”?

The URL would simply link with http://www.somethingaboutflight.com

My thought process was that having that “Home” link in the menu area would be a convenient way for folks to return to the first page of blog posts.

Apologies for not being as clear (total WP newb) and thanks for the excellent support!

In that case, you really do simply need to just create or modify the custom menu under Appearance > Menus:

And manually add a menu item with the text “Home” and the URL set to http://www.somethingaboutflight.com/. No need to create a page named “Home”.

I understand- that is exactly what I’ll do.

    Thanks again!
