Hello StartupWP,
Refer to item no :
1. Still no change at all.
2. Not seeing what you’re seeing
You go to my site, click on the search box, type anything, let’s say “Home”, you will see a dropdown box appear, hover on that dropdown box, and that is the color grey, I would like to change…
http://prntscr.com/1g1mgcThanks.
July 17, 2013 at 7:16 PM #9501. Okay, this will have to wait for the next official update then.
2. Yes, what exact browser is this occurring in? The provided CSS doesn’t help?
July 17, 2013 at 8:58 PM #951Hello StartupWP,
No, the provided CSS doesn’t help. It’s just that I don’t like the color, but everything is OK. Anyway, I am giving up of changing it and apologised for disturbing you of this matter.
Thanks.
July 17, 2013 at 9:45 PM #952No worries, we’re always here to help.
July 18, 2013 at 6:34 PM #953Hello StartupWP,
1. I have added a “posts in page” plugin and do not know whether you are familiar with this plugin. I have added in a post with image but the image is not seen. You can refer to my site > contact us >
ebooks. (I have not linked everything yet :) )My question is : How to make the image appear on this page ? I have searched through the support forum but some of the thing “http://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-add-featured-image?replies=22”, I do not understand and have sent a question to the plugin developer and is still waiting for his reply.
2. Besides, I have visit site button and read more button, but how to add on the post ?
3. Actually I am thinking to make one of my page to be like http://inkthemes.com/wpthemes/rethink-theme/#, do I need to add in any plugin for this besides Posts in page plugin ?
Thanks.
July 18, 2013 at 7:20 PM #9541. Sorry, not knowledgeable of the workings of this plugin, you can ask here:
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/posts-in-page
2. Unless you’re referring to the plugin, you can manually add the “Read More” break in posts with
<!--more-->
.3. Give this plugin a try:
July 19, 2013 at 1:23 AM #955Hello StartupWP,
If I don’t use the “posts in page” plugin, then is it still available for the post with image added to the specific page ? If Yes, then how ?
If I am not wrong, I need to touch the functions.php and template.php, is it right ?
Thanks.
July 19, 2013 at 5:58 PM #956Hello StartupWP,
Refer to the last request, I am manage to add the post with image to the page, but Is there any css code to set the design that I want which is the same as this page http://prntscr.com/1gfdq8 ?
Thanks.
July 19, 2013 at 6:13 PM #957Hello StartupWP,
Very sorry to make you confusing.
Refer to a few minutes ago request, I am manage to add the post with image to the page, the image disappear from the page once I insert <!–more–> into the post. I have found the exact design that I want. From the page, you can see http://prntscr.com/1gfgym, and after you click the readmore button, it appears http://inkthemes.com/wpthemes/rethink-theme/2012/01/14/at-the-hanover-technology-fair/ that is the post. So my question is how to make my page looks like this?
Thanks.
July 20, 2013 at 6:34 AM #958Sorry, is there a posts page or category page or similar that lists several posts somewhere on your site that we can see live please?
July 20, 2013 at 8:28 AM #960Hello StartupWP,
At the meantime, I have only placed one post in a page, this is the link http://uendi.com/store/health-and-beauty/weight-management.
Thanks.
July 22, 2013 at 3:15 AM #963It appears you just need to change the image from aligncenter to alignleft or alignright when editing the post.
July 22, 2013 at 6:26 AM #964Hello StartupWP,
No, I’m afraid you don’t understand what I mean.
What I want is, when visitors come to this page, they can only see part of the post, in other words, the rest of it is being hidden, till they click on the “Read More Button” than they are able to see everything.
So my question is, 1) Refer to my site, I have hidden the rest of my post, but I want to show this symbol […] http://prntscr.com/1gup1k ?
2) From the post page, how to pull the image out ?
3) I have set the margin to pull the “Read More Button” up a little bit, but still no change at all http://prntscr.com/1guqx7 ?
4) How to adjust the spacing between “The Fat Loss Factor” and “Posted on………” http://prntscr.com/1gur72 ?
5) How to adjust the spacing gap between the horizontal line and how to change the color of the line http://prntscr.com/1gurlu ?
6) How to insert a link from the “Read More Button” to the post ?Thanks.
July 22, 2013 at 6:30 AM #965Sorry as I missed out one more question, that is:
7. Is it available to adjust the width of the page http://prntscr.com/1guzu5 ?
Thanks.
July 24, 2013 at 1:43 AM #969Before we can help further, we’ll need to get you on the right track. Please make sure that you’re using Posts (not Pages) to set these up and you’ll want to create appropriate categories for the different posts or if it’s just one category you want, say “Store”, that’s fine too.
Once that’s ready this will work a lot better.
See:

and
July 24, 2013 at 7:47 PM #972Hello StartupWP,
Yes, I have used posts to set my first post up (The Fat Loss Factor). Then from the post, how to :
1) How to adjust the spacing between “The Fat Loss Factor” and “Posted on………” http://prntscr.com/1gur72 ?
2) How to adjust the spacing gap between the horizontal line and how to change the color of the line http://prntscr.com/1hdbp0 ?3) Now, I have used “Posts To Page” plugin, to pull all my posts to the page. Unfortunately, I’m unable to pull the image out from the page and alignment on the left after I set a “readmore” on my
post.Even I remove this plugin, and uses this shortcode in the page as shown in wordpress support : [display-posts include_excerpt=”true” image_size=”thumbnail” wrapper=”div”] , I can see no change at all. Please advise.
4) I would like to insert a “Visit Site” yellow link button and a “Read More” blue link button, but I do not know where to insert, is it in the “Posts” or “Page” ?
5) From my live site http://uendi.com/store/health-and-beauty/weight-management, I can see the right-hand side of the space is too wide, http://prntscr.com/1hde25, can I adjust it ? And can I adjust the left-hand side too ?
Thanks.
July 24, 2013 at 8:08 PM #973Hello StartupWP,
Refer to item no 3),
Even I remove this plugin, and uses this shortcode in the page as shown in wordpress support : [display-posts include_excerpt=”true” image_size=”thumbnail” wrapper=”div”] , I can see no change at all. Please advise.
What I means, even I remove this plugin, and post this shortcode in the page, you can see the page is totally empty with only a sentence shown:
[display-posts include_excerpt=”true” image_size=”thumbnail” wrapper=”div”]
July 25, 2013 at 8:17 AM #9751. Update the header code to:
<span style="font-size: 25px; display: block;">The Fat Loss Factor</span>
2. Use:
hr { margin: 20px 0; }
3. You’ll need to ask here: http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/posts-to-page – You could trying adding this plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-excerpt/
4. Unfortunately, this is difficult to say based on the method you’re using as apposed to using posts and category pages, this may also be a question for: http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/posts-to-page
5. Try:
.parent-pageid-992 #sidebar { display: none; } .parent-pageid-992 #content { width: 96%; }
July 26, 2013 at 3:59 AM #980Hello StartupWP,
Thank you so much for your help.
Refer to your reply for item no :-
1) Update the header code to: <span style=”font-size: 25px; display: block;”>The Fat Loss Factor</span>
From my site, I can see the post http://uendi.com/the-fat-loss-factor (too far) and the page (too near). Please advise.2) Use: hr { margin: 20px 0; }
From my site, I can see the post (no change at all), but the page is OK. Please advise.3) I have tested this plugin (Advanced-excerpt), it’s seem to be a great plugin but no change at all for my site or may be I do not know how to use it. Thank you for recommended me this plugin.
New question :-
3) From my site http://prntscr.com/1hm1mm, how to adjust the dotted line to move up a bit and also how to remove the text ?
Thanks.
July 26, 2013 at 7:51 AM #9814) One more question is, from my site, there is a readmore link http://prntscr.com/1hn1v7, I would like to change to another text or symbol like […], is it available to insert them to php file ?
Thanks.
July 28, 2013 at 7:30 AM #9881. This page looks fine, not sure what the problem is?
2. Try lowering 20px.
3. Use:
#nav-below{display:none}
And check the post content, there are a bunch of empty p tags at the bottom, when editing the post, make sure there’s no empty lines at the bottom.
4. The easiest way to customize this is by using:
July 28, 2013 at 6:58 PM #989Hello StartupWP,
Thank you for your advise.
May be I have wrongly setup the Reading Settings in the admin panel. As you know, I have a page with many numbers of sub-pages and sub-sub-pages containing posts in it. So for my Reading Settings under a static page, the front page is set “Home”, then the posts page I leave it “– Select –“, is this the correct way ?
As what I know, most of the excerpt plugins require the posts page under Reading Settings to be set.
Thanks.
July 29, 2013 at 4:08 AM #991Hello StartupWP,
Refer to the last reply item no :
1) This page looks fine, not sure what the problem is?
Apologised as I have changed to test another plugin, so it looks fine. And now, I change back to the initial plugin, it looks as what I require to adjust ?
From my site, I can see the post http://uendi.com/the-fat-loss-factor (too far) and the page (too near). Please advise.2) Try lowering 20px.
It is still no change at all, http://uendi.com/the-fat-loss-factor ?
Thanks.
July 29, 2013 at 10:00 AM #993If you want there to be a posts page of sorts, you can simply create a new page naming it whatever you want and then set the posts to that page under Settings > Reading. Otherwise, leaving unset (on “Select”), is fine.
1. Sorry, still looks fine, perhaps you were able to permanently resolve? Might be a browser-specific issue, please provide a screenshot if it’s still an issue.
2. Try this trick:
hr { margin: -5px 0; }
In this case, the higher the number, the smaller the margins.
August 4, 2013 at 4:59 PM #1006Hello StartupWP,
1. I would like to show the post title in the post, but I can’t get any code for it? However, as for page title, I am manage to display it.
2. How to show the page title unclickable when mouse hover on it?
3. How to move the “Read more…” to this position http://prntscr.com/1jfj2e ?
4. How to adjust the border to further down and right http://prntscr.com/1jfjdh ?
Thank you.
