Hello! I have a prostartup website up and running with bbpress. What I’m looking to do is create a membership-only part – users would log in and be able to post to the forum as well as see other pages which would be hidden (as well as the forum) to the general public. My questions:
1. Is it possible to have a single sign on with both bbpress and wordpress so once those users log in they can see the ‘private’ pages and use the forum as contributors? If so, how is that done?
2. If #1 is possible, I want to be sure the users don’t have moderator access to the private pages – again is that possible?
Thanks in advance!

http://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-my-login/
But, if you find additional capabilities are required you may want to think about upgrading bbPress to BuddyPress (http://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress/) and/or use a members plugin like:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/members/
2. They won’t, their role would need to be as high as Editor (which you would have to explicitly grant them that level of permission) in order to edit pages. However, for peace of mind, you can set Theme My Login to block everyone except for Admins from being able to access /wp-admin/. Once someone gains access to view a password-protected page, it’s no different than their viewing of one of your normal, public pages.

February 15, 2016 at 11:04 AM #2691Mapasy, did you have any luck with this? None of the plugins (including Theme My Login) worked to do what I want to do, which is what I think you wanted to do as well: not make users have to login *twice* (once at bbpress, once at wordpress, even though all credentials are the same).
If you did find a way around this, would you pretty please share?
Thank you!
Anne
